How we play at Ascend, the standards every player, parent, coach and guest signs up to, at the arena and online. GG starts with respect.

01The Ascend standard
Ascend is a place where young players compete hard and treat each other well, there is no version of winning here that includes disrespect. This Code applies to everyone at our arena, our events and our online sessions: players, parents, spectators, corporate guests, coaches and staff. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
02Players
Respect everyone: teammates, opponents, coaches and staff. Win with class, lose with class.
Follow your coach: session structure, breaks and stop points are part of training, not optional extras.
Care for the arena: treat equipment properly, report faults instead of hiding them, and leave your station as you found it.
Bring only what's allowed: no food or drinks at the stations except water, and personal devices stay away during training unless a coach says otherwise.
03Communication
Comms are for the team, callouts, encouragement and coordination. Not insults.
Zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, hate speech, slurs or discrimination of any kind, in voice, in chat, or in person.
No trash talk that targets a person. Banter about the game is fine; making someone feel small is not.
Never share another player's personal information, images or accounts.
04Fair play
No cheating, hacking, exploiting or using unauthorised software, ever.
No account sharing, smurfing or deliberately misrepresenting skill level in placements or tournaments.
Honour the result. Disputes go to the coach or tournament admin, not to arguments at the station.
05Wellness rules
Wellness is not a suggestion at Ascend, it is how we train:
Movement breaks and stretch checkpoints are mandatory parts of every session.
Sessions end at their stop point. "One more game" is not how champions recover.
Tilt happens, walking away for a reset is strength, not weakness. Rage at people or equipment is a conduct issue.
06Parents & spectators
Encourage every player, not just your own, and let the coaches coach during sessions and matches.
Concerns are welcome: raise them with staff away from the players, and we will always make time.
Do not photograph or film other people's children without consent; official event media is handled under our consent process.
07Our promise to you
Ascend coaches and staff hold themselves to the highest standard in the building: sessions are supervised, communication with players is professional and appropriate, wellness checkpoints are honoured, and every report is taken seriously. If we ever fall short, we want to hear about it, see Section 10.
08Online conduct
Everything above applies equally in our online sessions and community spaces (including our Discord). Additionally: keep accounts secure, use appropriate usernames, never attempt to contact coaches or other players through private channels outside official Ascend platforms, and report anything uncomfortable immediately. Our environments are monitored for safety, supported by our cybersecurity partner KIDAS.
09Consequences
We coach behaviour the same way we coach gameplay, with feedback first. Depending on severity:
Reminder: a quiet word from the coach and a chance to reset.
Timeout: sitting out part of a session, with the guardian informed.
Formal warning: a conversation with the player and guardian about what has to change.
Suspension or removal: for serious or repeated breaches. Cheating, hate speech, violence and any behaviour endangering others may skip straight to this step.
Anything that raises a safeguarding concern is escalated immediately to management and, where required, the relevant authorities.
