// Match Briefing

Tournament FAQ.

Everything players and parents ask before match day, registration, fees, rules, and what actually happens at the arena.

// Registration & Fees

How do I register for a tournament?
Through the registration form on our Active Tournaments page. Submitting the form requests a bracket slot, we confirm your place, payment details and match schedule by reply within one business day.
When and how do I pay the entry fee?
No payment is taken on the website. The entry fee (for example, AED 249 for the FC26 National Cup) is payable only after we confirm your slot, we'll include payment instructions in the confirmation.
Can my child register themselves?
Players under 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts our Terms of Service and Code of Conduct on the player's behalf.
What if the bracket is already full?
Slots are confirmed in registration order. If the bracket fills, we'll offer you a waitlist place and priority notice for the next event, you can also select "waitlist me for future tournaments" on the registration form.
What's the cancellation and refund policy?
If we cancel or reschedule an event, you'll be offered a new date or a refund of the entry fee. For cancellations on your side, the policy in our Terms of Service applies, contact us as early as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate.

// Match Day

What should players bring?
Just themselves and a water bottle, the arena provides all gaming equipment. Players may bring their own controller or headset subject to an admin check before matches.
What time should we arrive?
Check-in opens 30 minutes before the first match. Arriving late may mean forfeiting the match slot, so build in buffer time, the venue is L2-312, Sport Society, Mirdif.
Is food and drink allowed?
Water only at the stations, per our arena rules. Food and other drinks are welcome in the spectator and break areas between rounds.

// Rules & Fair Play

What format do tournaments follow?
It varies by event, the FC26 National Cup runs a 64-player, World Cup-style knockout. Each tournament's format, schedule and bracket rules are published on its listing and confirmed in your registration reply.
Are brackets age-grouped?
Development tournaments are age-grouped so players compete against peers. Open events like the National Cup may mix ages, where they do, minors remain fully supervised and guardian registration still applies.
What does "fair-play scored" mean?
Conduct counts. Referees and coaches track sportsmanship alongside results, comms discipline, respect for opponents and honouring calls. Our Code of Conduct applies to every match, and fair-play recognition is part of every event.
What happens if someone cheats?
Zero tolerance: cheating, unauthorised software, account misrepresentation or deliberate exploitation means disqualification from the event, and may lead to suspension from future tournaments per the Code of Conduct.

// Parents & Spectators

Can parents watch the matches?
Yes, spectators are welcome, and we'd argue the crowd is half the fun. During matches we ask supporters to cheer from the spectator area and let the referees and coaches run the floor.
Can I photograph or film my child playing?
You can capture your own child. Please don't photograph or film other people's children without their guardian's consent, official event media is handled under the consent collected at registration, and you can withdraw media consent at any time.
How is player wellbeing handled during long event days?
The same way as training: mandatory movement and hydration checkpoints between rounds, scheduled breaks built into the bracket, and coaches watching for tilt and fatigue. Wellness checkpoints aren't optional at Ascend, they're part of the event.
What do winners get?
Each event announces its own trophies and prizes on its listing and at check-in. What every player gets, win or lose: a reviewed match history and something to work on, that's the Ascend way.
