Tournament Preview FC26 Mirdif Arena

Inside the ASCEND FC26 National Cup

64 players. A World Cup-style knockout bracket. One arena in Mirdif. Here's exactly how the Cup is structured, who it's for, and what to expect on the day.

Format 64-Player Knockout

Venue Mirdif, Dubai

A single elimination bracket is the most honest format in competitive gaming. There is no group stage to hide in and no aggregate score to lean on. You win, or you go home.

The ASCEND FC26 National Cup is built on that principle. We drew the format directly from the World Cup knockout structure: 64 entrants, straight into head-to-head elimination, six rounds from the opening whistle to the final. Every match is a decider.

It is our largest FC bracket to date, and it runs entirely on-site at our Mirdif arena rather than online, players are in the same room, on identical setups, with the same latency and the same crowd behind them. That matters more than most people expect.

Why we run it offline

Online brackets are easier to organise and harder to trust. Connection quality varies, setups vary, and disputes are difficult to resolve fairly. Running the Cup in a single venue removes all of it: standardised hardware, supervised matches, and an admin present for every round.

It also changes how players perform. Competing with people watching, on a stage rather than a sofa, is a genuinely different skill, and it is the one that separates good players from tournament players.
